Good day everyone!
Hope you and your loved ones remain going strong and staying healthy.
While I am jotting down the interview and preparing to shoot it in the worldwideweb, I am feeling slightly mediocre. Today, the announcement came of the first curfew in my hometown. Of course I am respecting all that is necessary but can’t help feeling that this is a bit of a bummer.
Luckily this interview is an absolute joy. It explores the question what if you could have a conversation with anyone in the world and you would choose… you? Would you tell them to continue as they go or that they should take a different route?
Quesadillas for thought.
Enjoy!! (The interview primarily, but maybe also some Quesadillas. You deserve it!).

What is something you are most proud of?
I guess graduating tech bootcamp recently for UX design!
Was this a 'career change' or was it a long had ambition to become a UX designer?
Career change from graphic design I did for a hobby for over 10 years and the mental health field, also you're welcome!
How would you explain UX design and its importance in one line to someone who doesn't have an idea what UX design is?
I design websites and apps that will hopefully make a good experience for the user who visits.
Do you have any websites that you think are doing a great job in UX today? And if so, which are they?
Ah good question. I personally believe facebook adds too many features and is wonky but for a good UX website I recommend the interaction design foundation. They are great for learners and experts alike.
What is your opinion about the fact that great UX design increases a user's time spent on their phones and do you think there is need for 'UX design ethics'?
Mike Monteiro has a great book called "Ruined by Design" and explains the topic of ethics and UX and how it's necessary. I completely agree. Designers can help people but equally harm people depending on what type of design it is. The fact great UX design increases phone time is understandable and great on the buisiness side but big sites like Facebook should encourage users to take social media breaks but than they sadly would get paid less.
If you could have a drink with anyone in the world (existing or past), who would that be?
Good question...does your younger self count? My early 20s were a weird time.
Hahah, that is a fun answer. Starting at the beginning: what made this period in your life so weird?
Well I had moved to a big city and spent my time getting into shenanigans around town. Public drinking and roaming with friends at all hours, before I was at legal age of 21 I chose to get creeps from Craigslist to drop off me and pour friends booze for cash. Dangerous but it worked. Being not old enough to drink meant drastic measures.
What would you tell 20 year old self now?
Man that's a good question. I'd mention that the world gets crazier in the future.
What is the craziest thing that has changed since then?
I mean..trump becomes president, the capitol gets bombarded, a fucking pandemic happens, a local guy I almost hooked up with in my 20s moves to LA and becomes friends with the wilfred actor and drummer with black veil brides...toilet paper becomes sacred and a lot of people switch to a bidet. I also get MS at age 24 and get emotionally used to peers from school dying over heroin ODs from the opioid epidemic.
Well and 2021 hasn't even begun. What is your way of coping with stressful situations?
Humor and a lot of weed.
